Opportunities in The United States Naval Reserve
A lot of people worry about making a deployment while they are a Navy reservists. As a new reservists you are not eligible to deploy for the first two years of service. The Navy reserves cannot deploy someone before they have 84 days of active service.
The minimum requirement for the reserves is only a two year commitment. After the two years you can transfer to the inactive reserves, rendering yourself non-deployable.
You are only required to drill two days per month, and one two week period per year. At the end of two years, the total active time equals only 76 days. As of right now, there is a rule that will not allow members to be deployed before reaching their 84 day mark.
The pay for one weekend of work is $429.52. The pay for the two week period of active duty is significantly more.
This year the Naval Reserves has a need for Medical Professionals in a myriad of fields.
Why the reserves?
Networking is the number one reason that people choose to join the reserves. You will have the opportunity to serve with professionals in all fields from the San Diego area. These professionals encompass Doctors, Dentists, Nurses, and Medical Assistants.
Benefits. As a Naval reservists you receive the same benefits of an active duty member with the exception of Medical coverage. These benefits include base access, tax free stores, CHEAPER GAS, and many others.
Travel. For the two weeks of active duty per year, you will have the opportunity to travel to Naval Hospitals around the world.
