Future meeting topics: Currently in the planning stages are topics which will include lectures on lipids, urinary incontinence, and inhaled insulin.

DO speakers need for our monthly meetings As you may be aware, we MUST have 6 Osteopathic physicians as speakers, per year, to meet our requirements to make our CME hours eligible for category 1 credits. Additional info from the April SDOMA meeting: Dr. Steven Olmos presented at the April Chapter meeting on the timely topic of sleep disorders and the efficacy of oral appliances. The American Academy of Sleep Medicine has recently announced that oral appliances are an effective treatment for those with mild to moderate sleep apnea or who are CPAP intolerant. In-home sleep studies can be used for diagnosis and may be more desirable for some patients than an overnight sleep center evaluation. If you are interested in having Dr. Olmos lecture for another group, or would like a tour of the TMJ & Sleep Therapy Centre in La Mesa, please contact June Dudas at 619-772-2088.
