Nominations for 2007 SDOMA board members needed ASAP: It's that time of year again. Nominations need to be received ASAP, so that we can meet the obligations of our by-laws and our new officers can begin their terms of office at the January 2007 meeting. According to our by-laws the following offices are up for election; Secretary (one year term), Treasurer (one year term) and Vice-President (one year as Vice-President, one year as President, and one year as immediate past president for a total of three years). To volunteer or place names in nomination contact Jim Cox at 619-579-2946.
Future meetings: We have survived another year and are now over our 50-50 Osteopathic speaker issue for 2006. As you are aware, this is a requirement of keeping the hours at a "1-A" status and it can be sometimes difficult to bring DO speakers and meeting funding together. Thanks to all of you who have stepped up to the plate to volunteer as a speaker for SDOMA.
December 2006 and January 2007 are currently scheduled. February and March 2007 are being negotiated. Additionally, we will finally be getting to the new "inhaled insulin" topic that has been on the shelf awaiting FDA approval, the DO speaker issue for 2006 and the availability of an appropriately knowledgeable speaker.
