NOTE TO OUR MEMBERS REGARDING OUR MONTHLY MEETINGS: I have spoken with several of you regarding topics and speakers for our monthly meetings. Here are some realities: 1) In order to meet our requirements for category 1 Osteopathic CME, 50% of the speakers for our monthly meetings MUST be Osteopathic physicians. If not, ALL YOUR CME FOR THE YEAR could be downgraded to category 2. 2) We are contracted to our meeting location for monthly meetings. This guarantees we do not have to search each month for meeting space. They have, thus far, been relatively lenient with us regarding rescheduling our dates. Although, SDOMA, by contract, could be liable for over $900.00 per meeting, should we be forced to cancel, for an entire month. 3) Our monthly meetings costs, including speaker fee, range from $2,500,00-$4,000.00 - about $35.000.00 per year. With NO OTHER COSTS your SDOMA dues money could fund 2 meetings per year in our current format. Speakers great. Topics great. Funding, priceless. We can not have our monthly meetings without outside funding!

Nominations for 2008 SDOMA board members needed ASAP: It's that time of year again. Nominations need to be received ASAP, so that we can meet the obligations of our by-laws and our new officers can begin their terms of office at the January 2008 meeting. According to our by-laws the following offices are up for election; Secretary (one-year term), Treasurer (one-year term) and Vice-President (one year as Vice-President, one year as President, and one year as immediate past president for a total of three years). To volunteer or place names in nomination contact Jim Cox at 619-579-2946.SDOMA NEEDS YOU! IF WE DO NOT MAINTAIN AN APPROPRIATE ROSTER OF ELECTED OFFICERS WE WILL BE IN DANGER OF SACRIFICING OUR CALIFORNIA CORPORATE STATUS.

Future SDOMA Meetings: Our November 8, 2007 meeting will feature a presentation on "Gait and Balance" Meetings on Oriental and Alternative Medicine, Diabetes (inhaled insulin) and pain management are currently being explored for the future. We still need one more "DO" speaker for the year, to meet our yearly quota.
